Christmas with Friends

This is my DJ Christmas Swap block wall hanging. It still needs to be bound, but I wanted to publish here because I have signed up for a fall frolic swap that will be similar but with fall colors. I wanted those that are thinking of signing up to see what they could have :) and maybe that will get more participants! Great way to get beautiful DJ blocks from talented ladies (and maybe men) all over! So, come on and join the fun!!!!

Utah Fair Quilt Challenge Quilt

This is the quilt I am doing for the Utah State Fair Quilt challenge. Each year in September at the fair, you can purchase a fat quarter of the challenge fabric (the backing of this quilt). You then have until the next fair to come up with a quilt to enter. I have done this challenge with my friends Sue C. and Ruthie D. for the past 2 years. So, even though I moved to Ohio, I had to do this year's quilt. I chose to do a patriotic theme because my son, Tim, has served in Iraq in the Air Force during this year. We owe a lot to our men and women who are serving, so this quilt is for them! Now, just to finish quilting and get it bound by mid-August!

2007 Siggy Swap Top

I finally put together my 2007 siggy blocks. Just in time to get the 2008 blocks! This quilt is named Good Friends and Blue Jeans. The sashings and borders are out of brushed denim and the cornerstones and applique are wool. I now have 3 quilts with brushed denim and I love them. They are very cuddly - great to curl up in on a cold afternoon. I love working with wool and add it to my quilts every chance I get. I hope you like my quilt.

Quilt Pics

Quilting Done on Tea with Jane

Sue Baddley is the long-armer who quilted my DJ. She did a FANTASTIC job. I love the quilting. I am posting a couple of pictures and hope that I can get some better ones soon. We are right in the middle of the big move to Ohio and I can't find the card-reader to get the better pics off the camera. But I wanted to post a few. So, here they are!

New Pic of my finished DJ

This is my top, almost finished. I decided to tea-dye the entire thing! This is only funny to my close friends who never thought they would see me tea-dye anything. But, there were some marks on my quilt that I just couldn't live with, so tea-dye I did. Then my camera decided not to work, so I really didn't get any good pics of her before taking to Sue Baddley who is quilting my DJ for me. I have decided I will change her name from Teacher Jane to Tea with Jane. I think this more explains my journey with this quilt. I will post a pic of Tea with Jane when I get her back from Sue, or I get to Ohio!

Blocks are Finished

I have not posted since May! Lots of blocks, tris, and corners that haven't made it to the blog. Oh well -- the good news is that today I finished all 169 blocks and have them sewn together! Just 3 more tris and this baby Jane will be ready for quilting. I am posting this picture of my quilt so far. I may get time in the future to add all the blocks and tris, but for now.......

Bottom left corner

Oops. Forgot to post what I think is the hardest block/tri/corner so far! Also, the one with the most pieces at a whooping 85! I also forgot to add that I am now, as of last week, Susan Platinum Jane! Here goes the push to finish the blocks!

Right Side 8, 10, & 12

Greetings to all my Jane friends. At last, I have updated my blog with all my baby Jane blocks and tris that I have finished since February! Hope you can take a few minutes and enjoy them!
